Sudden Valley Golf Club - 2010 Tournament Schedule
The tournament schedule for each year is created by the Golf Club Board, in consultation with the Pro Shop. The Board wishes to have every member understand that the Golf Club administers the tournament schedule; the Pro Shop implements what the Board has approved. Your yearly membership dues to the Golf Club pays for the prizes associated with the competitions.
Because all expenses associated with tournaments cannot be subsidized by the dues, a modest entry fee has been established for some events to cover the post-event meal. Members who register for an entry fee event will be charged the entry fee, even if they are unable to attend the meal.
Sudden Valley Cup event dates are indicated in bold with an asterisk.
April 10 Ladies Opening Day Tournament - 9:15shotgun, 7:30 Breakfast & meeting at Bob’s.
April 17 Men’s Opening Day Tournament – Men’s times or make a tee time. $10.00 Entry plus $200.00 added from Men’s Club. Individual stroke play, 1 mulligan per hole.
*April 24 Opening Day Mixed Scramble – 4-Person Team Format. 9:30 shotgun start. Sign-up individually. Teams drawn @ Bob’s. Continental Breakfast @ 7:30. Entry Fee event.
April 29 Ladies Mystery Golf Trip – bus departs from the parking lot @ 7:00AM.
May 1 Best-ball Qualifier Tournament – Must pre-register; tee times. $10 Entry Fee. Men’s Club Championship qualifying begins for both the individual and best-ball flights. Available dates for qualifying are May 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th only. Members qualifying for the championship flight must qualify from the blue tees.
May 8-9 Men’s Club Championship Individual and Best-ball Qualifying – Alternate dates to qualify.
May 20 LadiesMt. Baker League @ BGCC.
*May 22 18 Hole Coed Four-Ball Tournament – Tee times. 2 Net of 4 (Sign-up individually – or by the team).Teams must have 1-3 ladies.
May 22 Mixed Member’s Social - 4:30 shotgun. Alternate shot, dinner to follow. Entry Fee Event.
June 3 LadiesMt. Baker League @ N. Bellingham.
June 5-6 Men’s 36 Hole Rainbow Event - Member/Guest or Member/Member (NEW THIS YEAR). Entry Fee Event.
June 12-13 The Koeniger Cup – Ladies’ times.
June 12 Mixed Member’s Social – 4:30 shotgun. 9 Par3s, Chapman, Dinner to follow, Entry Fee Event.
*June 19 Sudden Valley Open Tournament – 8:00 shotgun. Individual stroke play competition paired by handicap. Gross and net prizes – Men’s, and Ladies Divisions. OPEN TO NON-MEMBERS. Only members inviting guests may request to play with their guests. Luncheon to follow. New member recognition. Entry Fee event.
June 24 LadiesMt. Baker League @ Lake Padden.
*June 26-27 Individual 36 Hole Stroke Play Tournament – Tee Times. Men’s, Ladies and Senior Divisions. Gross and net prize fund. Members may request pairings on Saturday; pairing by gross score on Sunday.
June 29 LadiesMt. Baker League @ Peace Portal.
June 28-30, July 1 Junior Golf Camp – Volunteers Needed!!
July 3 Ladies 18 Hole Competition – 8:40 shotgun; Meeting following. Lunch and no host beverages.
July 8 LadiesMt. Baker League @ Sudden Valley.
*July 10-11 Mid-Summer Best-ball – Tee times. Men’s and Ladies divisions; choose your partner or sign-up individually. Players can request their foursome on the 1st round. $300.00 added from Men’s Club to the Men’s divisions.
July 10 Sudden Valley Horserace - 4:30 Sign-up individually, teams will be drawn.
July 17 Mixed Member’s Social – 4:30 shotgun.2-person scramble with a limit of 4 clubs per team. Dinner to follow. Entry Fee Event.
July 20-21 Ladies Invitational – 8:30 Shotgun. Volunteers Needed! Entry Fee event.
July 31 Stafford Cup “USA VS. CAN” – 8:00 shotgun. Entry fee event, lunch after.
July 31 Mixed Member’s Social– 4:30 Shotgun Start – String Tournament; no dinner.
*August 7 Bucks & Does “Open Tournament” - 8:00 shotgun Start – Entry fee event. Chapman format - Barbeque After.
Members are encouraged to invite non-members to participate in one of the Golf Club’s favorite tournaments for couples.
August 14-15 Men’s Invitational –9:00 shotgun. Entry Fee Event. Member/Guest or Associate/Guest Volunteers Needed!!
August 21-22 Ladies Club Championship – Tee Times. 36 Holes. Lunch and no host beverages.
August 29 Men’s Team Match with Uplands G&CC – Away match. Entry fee event.
September 1 Men’s Team Match with Whidbey G&CC – Away match. Entry fee event.
September 2 LadiesMt. Baker League @ North Bellingham.
September 8 Men’s Team Match with Whidbey G&CC – Home match.
September 9 Ladies Exchange - 8:40 shotgun; luncheon following.
September 11 Men’s Team Match with Uplands G&CC – Home match.
September 18 Ladies Wind-Up - 8:40 shotgun; luncheon and meeting to follow.
September 19 Koch Klassic - Golf Club Fundraiser Tournament – 2:00 shotgun – Entry fee event. Dinner to follow.
*October 2 Fall Wind-Up and Awards Banquet – Tee times assigned by Pro Shop. Entry Fee event. Format: Mixed Shamble. Dinner in the Clubhouse (6:00no host cocktails, 7:00 dinner & awards banquet)
